For teens who prefer not to wear braces, Invisalign® may be an excellent option.
Invisalign Teen® works the same way as Invisalign (new clear aligners are used about every two weeks), but there are two important differences. First, Invisalign Teen aligners have Blue Dot Wear Indicators on them so parents and the doctors at Berkeley Orthodontics can tell whether the aligners are being worn consistently, and so it’s easier to tell when it’s time to move on to the next aligner.
The second distinction is that Invisalign Teen patients can also get up to 6 free replacement aligners should they lose their aligners. This is an important benefit and gives some level of comfort to parents and their teens in case any of the aligners are lost at some point in the course of treatment. Even the most responsible teenager can wrap an aligner in a napkin and have it disappear into the dumpster.
